Rome Exhibition Grand Masters 100 Years Of Leica Photography

Dates: 16.11.17 - 18.02.18. Address: Complesso del Vittoriano, Via di San Pietro in Carcere, 00186 Rome, Italy.

The Rome exhibition 'Grand Masters 100 Years Of Leica Photography' takes place until the 18th February (2018) at the capital's Complesso del Vittoriano (Ala Brisini) venue in the heart of the Eternal City. Leica, founded in 1914, is a German camera manufacturer which revolutionised photography more than a century ago. The cameras were compact with collapsible lenses, ideal for taking anywhere and making them perfect for street photography and capturing real things in urban situations. Some of the world's greatest photographers who have travelled all over the globe with their Leica cameras are on exhibition, such as Fred Herzog, Sebastião Salgado, Joel Meyerowitz, Robert Capa and Henri Cartier-Bresson. The exhibition's main aims include introducing as many cultures as possible and collating a large selection of original photographs (more than 350 original prints), as well as to demonstrate that the Leica camera was and still is a global revolution in photography.
