The River Tiber flows through the middle of Rome, separating the Vatican City, which lies on the left/west side, from the historical centre of the Eternal City, which is located on the right/east side of the Tiber. For the last 12 years the walkways along the river have been home to the 'Along The Tiber... A River Of Culture Rome 2015' (Lungo Il Tevere... Un Fiume Di Cultura Roma 2015) event; an open-air Summer event with free entrance. There is a full program of cultural events, exhibitions, music, theatre, food and shows, suitable for the young and old, and local Romans and tourists alike. The event is located on the river's left bank, between the the square of Piazza Trilussa and Porta Portese (between the bridges of 'Ponte Sublicio' and 'Ponte Sisto'.
