Date(s): 21.12.13 - 27.04.14. Venue: Museo Nazionale di Castel Sant'Angelo, Piazza San Egidio 1/b, 00153 Rome, Italy.

The exhibition Apoteosi. Da uomini a Dei. Il Mausoleo Adriano (Apotheosis. From men to gods. The Mausoleum of Hadrian) is being shown at the National Museum at Hadrian's Mausoleum, one of the largest funerary monuments in Italy. The exhibition aims to highlight the historical significance of Hadrian's Mausoleum (now called Castel Sant'Angelo in Italian), starting with its high quality design and architecture. It then continues by telling of the origins of the historical-religious deification of the 'emperor'.

The works on display are of great historical interest, such as the Jug of Ripacandida, the Relief of Arniternuni, the Cameo of Nancy and the ivory Diptych of Quintus Aurelius Symmachus.
