Posted 02.01.15 by Leigh

Date(s): 17/10/14 - 18/01/15. Venue: Villa Medici, Viale della Trinità dei Monti 1, 00187 Rome, Italy.

There is still time to visit the 'The Baroque Underworld', which is being hosted by the Accademia di Francia (French Academy) at the Villa Medici until the 18th January 2015. The exhibition is dedicated to the dark side and underclasses of Roman baroque society, who created an astounding display of artistic inventiveness and paradoxes. There are more than 50 pieces on show, all of which originate from Rome during the first part of the 17th century and display the neglected facet of Rome’s artistic creativeness. The exhibition has been created in collaboration with the Petit Palais, Musée des Beaux-Arts de la Ville de Paris and it will move to this museum in February 2015.
