The Rome exhibition 'Mario Sironi 1885-1961 Exhibition is being held at the Complesso del Vittoriano (Piazza Venezia) from the 4th October 2014 to the 8th February 2015. Mario Sironi, who was born in Sardinia, Italy, is regarded as one of Italy's greatest masters of twentieth century modernist art. The exhibition takes a detailed look at Sironi's career from beginning to end, through several of his Modernist periods, including Futurism (Il Camion) and Metaphysical Art (La Lampada). Sironi was a supporter of Mussolini and after the Second World War his reputation declined dramatically and he became a recluse after the suicide of his daughter but he continued painting until shortly before his death in 1961. Tickets are available from 12.00 Euros per person.
