The exhibition Mostri. Creature Fantastiche della Paura e del Mito (Monsters. Fantastic Creatures of Fear and Myth) is being shown for six months at the National Roman Museum. This highly interesting exhibition displays over one hundred archaeological finds from Italian and foreign museums. It illustrates the iconographic evolution of the Minotaur, the Griffins, the Chimeras, the Gorgons, Pegasus, the Sphinx, and so forth, from the Orient to Greece, as well as from the Etruscan, Italic and Roman world. A visual and strong reminder that Classical Art also reflects beasts as well as beauty.
