If you are visiting Rome and wishing to see many of the Eternal City's museums, monuments and archaeological sites, then you should consider purchasing the Roma Pass discount card. The scheme is run by the City Council and the Ministry for Arts and Cultural Activities, in collaboration with ATAC, Rome's main transport provider. The pass allows you free entry to the first two collaborating tourist attractions that you visit, followed by a reduced tariff to any of the following collaborating tourist attractions, as well as further free entry to some attractions, such as Accademia Nazionale di San Luca, Museo della Repubblica Romana e della memoria garibaldina, Museo Bilotti a Villa Borghese, Museo Canonica, Museo delle Mura, etc. The pass is valid for 3 days and passholders also get free use of the city's public transport network until midnight of the third day. For 8.00 Euros less there is also the new Roma Pass 48 Hours which is similar but valid for 48 hours. For more information, check out the website above.
